Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a realm shattered after the Elden Ring was broken and its fragments taken by demigods. You play a Tarnished, summoned back to these lands to become Elden Lord.
Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki with worldbuilding by George R. R. Martin, it was released in 2022 and won Game of the Year at The Game Awards. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion in 2024 added a huge new region, and the series later expanded with Elden Ring Nightreign.
