Mount & Blade: Warband is a sandbox RPG set in Calradia, a fictional medieval land divided between six kingdoms. There is no main story. You start as a nobody with a horse and a few coins, and what you become is up to you, whether that is a merchant, a mercenary, a vassal or a ruler.
Turkish studio TaleWorlds released it in 2010, and it built a massive fan base thanks to its physics based combat and mods like Prophesy of Pendor, A World of Ice and Fire and Persistent World. Its sequel, Bannerlord, followed in 2020.
