Poe Ninja Guide 2026

Poe Ninja is the go-to economy tracker for Path of Exile. It shows live currency prices, the most popular builds in the current league, and the real market value of almost every item in the game. Whether you trade casually or flip currency for profit, knowing how to read it gives you a serious edge over players who guess their prices.

What Is Poe Ninja

Poe Ninja is a free fan-made website that pulls live data directly from the Path of Exile trade API. It updates constantly during a league, tracking what items are actually being listed and sold across thousands of players. Think of it as a real-time price guide built from actual market activity, not guesswork.

The site covers everything from basic currency like Chaos Orbs and Divine Orbs to rare, unique items, gems, maps, and even full character builds. If it exists in the current league, poe ninja almost certainly has a price on it.

It is completely free and requires no account. You open it, pick your league, and start looking things up.

How to Access Poe Ninja and Pick the Right League

Go to poe.ninja in your browser. The first thing you will see is a league selector at the top of the page. This is the most important step to get right before looking at any prices.

Path of Exile runs a new challenge league every three to four months. Each league has its own economy, completely separate from Standard. If you are playing the current league, always select that league’s data and not Standard, or every price you see will be wrong.

  • Current challenge league — select this if you are playing the new season
  • Standard — the permanent league where older characters live
  • Hardcore — a separate economy for hardcore players
  • Solo Self-Found — its own isolated market with different prices

If you are not sure which league you are in, check the top right corner of your in-game screen. The league name is displayed there.

Currency Tab Explained

The Currency tab is where most players spend the most time. It lists every tradeable currency in the game along with its current value in Chaos Orbs, which is the standard unit of measurement in Path of Exile’s economy.

How to Read Exchange Rates

Each row shows two things: how many of that currency equals one Chaos Orb, and how many Chaos Orbs you need to buy one of that currency. These numbers are not always the same, and that gap is where active traders make their profit.

For example, if the page shows that one Divine Orb costs 160 Chaos Orbs, that is the current going rate based on recent listings. The number updates throughout the day as more trades happen.

  • Chaos Orb — the baseline; everything is measured against it
  • Divine Orb — the high-value standard for expensive gear pricing
  • Exalted Orb — lower value than in older leagues, but still relevant
  • Orb of Alteration, Vaal Orb, Chromatic Orb — crafting currencies with reliable demand

One important detail: the prices shown are asking prices from active listings, not confirmed sale prices. A Divine Orb listed at 160 Chaos might actually sell for 155 if a buyer negotiates. Treat the number as a ceiling, not a guarantee.

Checking Item and Unique Prices

The Unique Items tab is the second most-used part of the site. Every unique item currently dropping in the league has an entry with its average listed price in Chaos Orbs.

You can sort by value, filter by item type, and click any unique to see a price history chart. The chart shows whether the item is rising, dropping, or holding steady. This is useful when you find something and are not sure whether to sell now or wait.

  • Click any unique item to see its 7-day price trend
  • Items with very few listings are unreliable — prices can swing wildly on low supply
  • Check the listing count column. Fewer than 10 listings means the price is speculative
  • Corrupted versions of the same item often carry a different price from clean ones

The same logic applies to gems, divination cards, base items, and map fragments. Every category has its own tab on the left side of the screen.

Using the Builds Tab to Plan Your Character

The Builds tab shows every character posted to the Path of Exile website during the current league, ranked by experience, depth, or skill gem. This is where you go when you want to plan a new character or check how other players have geared the build you are already running.

Filter by class, ascendancy, or skill name, and you will see real characters using that exact setup. Click any character to view their full gear, passive tree, skill links, and flasks. It is like having access to thousands of practical build guides written by players with real results.

  • Sort by depth to find the most successful hardcore characters
  • Filter by skill to see every viable version of the build you want to play
  • Check the gear on top characters to understand which items actually matter
  • Study passive trees to spot where experienced players allocate points differently from popular written guides

This is one of the most underused features on poe ninja. Most players only check currency prices and ignore the builds section entirely, but for planning purposes, it is often more useful than any single written guide.

Smart Ways to Trade Using Poe Ninja Data

The smartest thing you can do with poe ninja is check it before you list anything for sale, not after. Look at the current price, check how many listings exist, and price yours slightly below the median to sell quickly rather than sitting in trade chat for hours.

For currency flipping, compare the purchase and sale rates of the same currency pair. If you can buy Chaos at 160 per Divine and sell them back at 162, that margin is real and experienced traders exploit it at volume.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

The most common mistake new players make is treating poe ninja like a fixed price book instead of a live market. Prices move constantly. An item worth 50 Chaos on Tuesday can drop to 30 on Friday because a new farming strategy flooded the market with copies.

  • Do not price items on day one of a league — prices are wildly unstable in the first 48 hours while the market settles
  • Do not ignore listing counts — a single overpriced outlier is able to skew the average upward
  • Do not assume the listed price equals the sale price — buyers often negotiate below the listing price
  • Do not check Standard prices for challenge league play — they are completely separate economies
  • Do not forget to refresh the page — poe ninja updates frequently, but your browser tab does not

The early days of a new league deserve extra caution. Prices in the first two to three days are set by dedicated players who have more currency than average. Those numbers drop fast as more players reach endgame and supply climbs. Wait at least 48 hours in a new league before making any major buying or selling decisions from Poe Ninja data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is poe ninja always accurate?

It is accurate in the sense that it reflects real listings from real players. But listed prices are not the same as confirmed sale prices. Use it as a strong reference rather than a fixed number, and always check the listing count before trusting any single entry.

Why are some poe ninja prices much higher than what I see in trade chat?

The site pulls from active listings, which include items that have been sitting unsold for days at inflated prices. When the listing count for an item is low, those overpriced entries pull the average up. Sort by the lowest active listings to find a more realistic floor price.

Does poe ninja work for Path of Exile 2?

Yes. Poe ninja supports Path of Exile 2 leagues. When you open the site, select the correct game at the top of the page before browsing any data. The two games have entirely separate economies, and the data does not cross over between them.

Poe ninja does not replace good game knowledge, but it removes the guesswork from trading entirely. Check it before you list, check it before you buy, and pay attention to how prices shift across the league. Players who use it consistently always come out ahead of the ones who guess.
